Michael is a corporate taxation expert with over twenty years of experience in the field. Michael earned an M.B.A. in Taxation and a B.S. in Accounting (Magna Cum Laude) from California State University East Bay. He is a CPA licensed in the states of California and Washington, as well as a Chartered Global Management Accountant ("CGMA"). Michael is a member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPAs, and he serves as board member/CFO for numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Asia America Multi-Technology Association ("AAMA") and Prospect Silicon Valley ("ProspectSV"). Michael is fluent in Mandarin. Michael's expertise in corporate taxation includes international tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, tax provision, and tax compliance. He joined SingerLewak from Ernst & Young in 2009, and his professional experience includes 13 years working at Big 4 accounting firms (PwC & EY) and over 3 years working at a NASDAQ technology company as the Head of Tax Department.
