Mark Dennis, CPA, MBA, CFF

Mark Dennis is a Partner with SL Biggs, A Division of SingerLewak LLP, where he leads engagements involving bankruptcy administration, forensic accounting, financial investigations, litigation support, fiduciary services, and complex tax matters. With more than 20 years of public accounting and advisory experience, he is regularly retained by bankruptcy trustees, attorneys, creditors, debtors, and courts to address complex financial and insolvency-related issues.

Mark has developed a nationally recognized practice in bankruptcy and restructuring matters. Since 2020, he has been appointed by the United States Trustee Program as a Subchapter V Trustee in more than 130 Chapter 11 cases throughout Colorado and Wyoming. He has also served in a variety of fiduciary capacities, including Chapter 11 Trustee, Plan Administrator, Receiver, Examiner, and Disbursing Agent, providing independent oversight and administration in financially distressed and contested matters. His appointments frequently involve business operations, stakeholder negotiations, asset recovery, claims administration, and plan implementation.

As a forensic accountant and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) professional, Mark specializes in tracing and reconstructing financial activity, identifying recoverable assets, analyzing insolvency and damages issues, and investigating potential fraudulent transfers and preferential payments. He has directed complex financial investigations involving voluminous records, including large-scale transaction tracing projects where detailed analysis of funds flows, and asset movement are critical to the recovery and administration process.

Mark is frequently engaged as an expert witness and has testified in federal bankruptcy proceedings on issues involving forensic accounting, insolvency, financial analysis, business records reconstruction, and damages-related matters. His expert opinions and evidentiary analyses have assisted courts, trustees, and litigants in resolving highly contested disputes.

In addition to his forensic and fiduciary work, Mark advises clients on tax planning, compliance, and reporting matters involving individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, estates, and bankruptcy estates. His practice integrates tax expertise with restructuring and insolvency experience, enabling clients to navigate both operational and financial challenges during periods of transition.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Cornell University and an MBA from London Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Colorado and holds the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants' Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) credential. He is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, Turnaround Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
